I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
